Looking For Feedback On A Character I Modelled

#1

Hi,

I’m a rigger with almost no experience of modelling characters but I wanted to release a free rig online but I couldn’t find any nice cartoony models to work with so I had to create my own.

I followed Brian Tindall’s template for facial modelling and for the body I tried to keep the mesh density low and the polygons square so that they would subdivide nicely.

All feedback welcome!

Thanks,
-Harry

PS: ignore the hair mesh, that’s temporary.

It look great… i would say that you are gonna have problems with the face topology, there are no loops around the mouth, you should look for proper face topology images on google… and retopo your lower part of the face, other than that i see it good, minor tweaks on the topology could make it better but it looks cool and i think that will work just fine for you… but im no expert :stuck_out_tongue:

i would just recommend relaxing (lowering) a little bit the arms so you can model better the shoulders, so they are more apparent, because it looks like your character doesn’t have shoulders, also (at least for me) helps to create a better shape for the sides of the torso; and its easier for riggers to weigh the arm and avoid problems in the shoulder area (im not a rigger so im sure you know more about it than me)
