Looking for a Photoshop Tutorial..

I’m looking for a Photoshop tutorial to achieve this effect.

I did this in photoshop, and posted it on a message board (not cgtalk) and people are asking me how I did it. Since I’m lazy and not a very good teacher, I was hoping there were some tutorials I could post a link to.

I’ve done a couple of those too (there’s one on my site right now).

Just tell them this:

  1. Make sure you have tripod or a very stable foundation for the camera, and your camera has a timer for shutter release, or a cable release so someone else can take the shot.

  2. Set up your lights so that each version of yourself won’t be casting obvious shadows on another version of yourself (if such a scene was to be real).

  3. Set up timer, and take position at one of the designated spots. Repeat for all other spots. Take at least one photo of only the background as the base.

  4. Compile the result in Photoshop, with each layer set to a lower opacity so you can see if each version of yourself is in the correct position. If something needs to be changed, repeat step 3.

  5. Start erasing parts of each photo so that other versions of yourself show through. Use the background base photo as a foundation if needed. The erasing can be very detailed, so you must have patience.

  6. Do whatever normal digital darkroom stuff you usually do to improve the entire image.

That’s it.
