Hey everyone,
I’m working on a short that requires lightning in it. I was wondering what the best way to achieve this effect would be. I was thinking of doing it in comp it may be a lot easier, but if using lights is better I’ll move this to the Lighting section. Anything will help me. Thank you for your time.

Lightning through composting is great
it works well, renders quickly,
it always helped me,
what i adds is a white or gray layer making it screen mode,
and fluctuating it’s opacity along with the lightning, depending on the scene
you want, (try other modes along with screen, may be add, classic color dodge, or overlay)
it helps me a lot to shop the spread of light from the lightning to areas i want to…
and as ani-max well said glow do creates good results too
