light sync

#1

hey guys,

got a small prob, i cant seem to get the vue sun light to sync with my max directional light. i can get the cameras to sync perfectly, but my light always appears below my landscape.

is there something im doing wrong? i think the sync data is fine, as i can sync the camera to the 3ds max light, and the camera uses the light sync data fine.

this is killing me!

any help always appreciated!

cheers, dean

The synching for the lights is broken. E-on knows about it.

umm thats an arse!

so much for vue intergration!

ok im still struggling to come up with an adequate solution. ummm! anyone got any ideas? my vue knowledge is average, but im hitting a brick wall. ive tried syncing it to a camera object, ive tried manually aligning the sun, but neither work.

does anyone have any sugestions?

cheers, dean

Grab the Azmuth and Pitch numbers from Max’s Daylight systems settings and manually plug them into Vue’s sunlight settings. That should at least synch up your shadows.

Is that the reason why i can’t get soft shadows when i render in max with MR, while when i render directly in Vue shadows (shadow maps) are perfectly soft?
