Light bulb scene

Hey guys,

I was wondering how to achieve the glowing of a light bulb like in the image attached with 3ds Max and Vray.
I’ve been going through pages and pages of google with no good results - might be that I typed the wrong keywords.

This is probably most easily controlled in post. You can slave away doing test renders, or nail it in a few minutes in Photoshop.

I forgot to mention that I would like to animate the whole thing. Is it still the best thing to do it in AE or so?
