Learning modeling

#1

Hello CGSociety, , im pretty new with 3d started using it in around last September, wanted to share my progress and hopefully i will improve it.
For the beginning ill post some pictures so you would see more or less my progress and maybe tell me if im doing something wrong.

I found out some new brushes! all next pictures will be pure exploration.

I know usually my models are too messy- too many details which im trying to keep more down recently.
My first t-pose, anatomy practice.

1 head model which creation i took seriously:

After a christmas time i opened file and realized how hand painted textures looks like- unrealistic, so i tried to use photos and i achieved something like this (comaprision hand painted textures and photo ones)

Learning to do hard surface, it was pretty fun, but again i put too many details and after getting to 8mln polygons i started to learn that sometimes less is more.

At this moment im trying to do a full body- hard surface model which is going a bit slowly but im learning a lot.
Still i havent yet learned how to retopologise due to lack of time, but sooner or later i will do that.

Nice!, you’re learning quite fast in my opinion
My favorite one its the cyborg looking head!

Keep learning about anatomy, and gather as many real life references as you can (remember to save them for further use)

Amazing work dude

Agreed.

Your sculpts, even at this very early stage in creative development, already show’s an innate grasp of anatomical principles and yeah all I’ll advise is too continue exploring at your own pace, not only the toolset parameters but also the beginnings of artistic aesthetics as to ie: “What Looks Good”.

Thank you very much! im planning soon try another style less “realistic”, and then again maybe something ultra realistic? I just started so every day im finding out something new in zbrush.

Thank you! Yeah this cyborg like head was my 1 time when i found out about belt brushes. Soon ill have summer holidays so im planning to study more about anatomy thank you for recommending it to me.

For the last weeks i was working on female 3d ranger, in quite ceremonial armor of theme “Crow”.
I would like to call it done but im not sure yet.

Her face is completely assymetrical as i wanted to play a bit with asymmetry, scars etc. Probably next thing what ill do after this is to look how to render my models as i have really large problems with it.

Hello, havent been here a while, tried to work more on uni stuff. Now when its done its perfect time for me to learn new methods and ways to do 3d
Meanwhile :
Finished Crow Armor:

Beauty shot:

Some classroom what i made…but non living things are kinda hard to make for me probs i will need to try to improve it soon.

And my first lil “proper” asset, it was horribly hard for me, but i learned a lot through it. Used unreal engine and started to learn 3dcoat.

Started to finally do some personal work, trying to get better at texturing:
Model in the moment when i started texturing:

In this one i wanted to focus more on textures than modeling, but probably ill do some more in near future
