Learning modeling and topology basics

Hi
I have come across this forum and would like some advice on how to learn character modeling. I have been using Maya for a great deal of time for animation and I am continuously learning and drawing anatomy. But I do not know where to begin with learning the basics of organic modeling and topology.

Any advice on tutorials, books or first-hand knowledge will be of good help!

Thanks for the link HippyDrome very good information. Will you be releasing the art of moving points in another format?, I cannot load itunes on my computer.
