Lead Artist - Issaquah, WA

[color=white][font=‘Trebuchet MS’][size=3]Sierra Online, Seattle Studio is looking for a Lead Artist to direct a team of very talented and experienced artists, both in-house and overseas on a highly creative MMO project. The ideal candidate is able to effectively set and implement the visual tone and design vision within a reasonable schedule and budget constraints while still maintaining exceptionally high production values.

Responsibilities:

[li]Set, maintain, and own the visual direction of the product, making sure that continuity is ensured across all aspects during production
[/li][li]Defines the art schedule and establishes procedures
[/li][li]Works with the technical artist to define an art production pipeline that makes the best use of the requirements of limitations of the target platform
[/li][li]Works with the technical artist to maintains an art asset database including the enforcement of naming conventions, directory structures and asset management.
[/li][li]Works with the designers and programmers to ensure a cohesive and unified development cycle and product vision
[/li][li]Works with our external sister studio in Shanghai, China to determine short- and long-term development priorities.
[/li][li]Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate difficult and creative concepts in a clear and concise manner; capable of writing design documentation defining needs
[/li][li]Task driven, self motivated, creative person with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
[/li][li]Ability to lead by example to set the studio’s visual quality, directing a team of artists to realize a unified conceptual vision
[/li][li]Ability to firefight when necessary by providing quality content
[/li][li]Must be able to travel.
[/li]

Requirements:

[ul]
[li]Solid knowledge base and demonstrated ability in Discreet 3ds Max or equivalent 3D application.
[/li][/ul]
[ul]
[li]Strong art fundamentals including hand skills
[/li][li]Ability to drive visual continuity
[/li][li]Ability to make critical decisions regarding responsibilities and drive for end results
[/li][li]Strong communication skills via verbal and written means
[/li][li]Ability to determine realistic timelines and accurate project budgets
[/li][li]Demonstrate initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
[/li][li]5+ years experience in the game industry
[/li][li]Two or more shipped games in the role of Lead Artist
[/li][li]Previous experience in online games a plus.
[/li][li]Willing to work on site in Issaquah, WA.
[/li][/ul]
