Hey Guys,
This model is supplied from a little dark short im working on. Here are some images from the short. I will also Post it when im done. I originally built this for these lighting challenges because I thought it is a very fun platform for lighting. You can approach this in all kinds of ways.

Id love to see all kinds of moods, Morning and evening warm lighting, Rain and lightning, Tunnel dark looks, Get crazy with the ideas and have fun. No right and wrong here.

Here are 4 images to get the creativity flowing

#3

Thanks for next Challenge

#4

thanks for the new challenge! I started to work on the models and layouts, the OBJ file have many problems(inverted normals, missed UVW maps and …) .
I’ll share my WIP as soon as possible

#5

@armanpier shoot your right I just noticed the obj export might have been a little off. I didn’t UV Texture for the export because I figure everyone uses there own methods for UV unwrapping. Ill fix up those normal issues and give the update to Giorgio. Thanks!

#6

This is an awesome challenge! Thanks for the share! I look forward to working on this.

#7

Is the new version of this up? I just tried t download and it says it’s not available.
I’m not sure if the problem is on my end or yours.

#8

@prestonplatt many thanks,
when is the deadline by the way? light me up guys

#9

Hello  the deadline will be SOON  just joking. I think two months should be enough to unleash our creativity
I’ve imported the model in max and it worked quite good. What are exactly the issue ?
Jojo

#10

Giorgio It was just some flipped normals. I resent my file and I tested the normals. they seem to be all good now.

Thanks!

link FIXED !!!

Nice model prestonplatt.

I will try this one with Corona.

#13

Hi at all!

I am very interested in these challenges!

Here my work in progress of the scene.

There are not a lot of textures used right now. I am using mostly MILA shader. A good way to test them

Hi there,

This is my first ever post. Here is a WIP render from Electric Image Animation System, hope to improve it in the coming weeks. Thanks!

@dwu67 Keep going the texturing is looking good. Id copy the model and display it past the window so you can see into the next car.

@AndreHeiter Nice crazy colors keep going

#16

Thanks Preston! Great model. Will keep improving it, and try a daylight one. Duplicating the train sounds great.

BTW, when I imported the obj, I still got quite a few inverted normals. Those gives me problems when I sub-divide them. Particularly on the body near the air vent by the side door, and also on the seats. You mentioned it was fixed in a previous post but I tried the first download link and still got some problems?

Thanks!

#17

Hey All,

Hope you all are good and Excited to enter this challenge and see some great works from the masters.

Here’s my First Cut for this challenge. Hope you all like it and Comment and criticize on it.

Good luck to everyone…

Softwares Used.

3Ds Max 2014, VRay 2.40, Photoshop CS3

Thanks

Thanks prestonplatt! the inspiration for this color scheme came from the french train RER B http://ufies.org/~aleith/transit/paris/inside_rer_lineb.jpg

#19

I’m not sure what I am doing wrong but I can’t get this file to import without all kinds of issues with the normals. I have tried 3DS max 2013 and 2014 as well as Maya 2015. If anyone has any suggestions as to what settings to use with the import or perhaps a link to the file already imported into max or maya that would be really helpful.

Thanks.

Hi everybody,

thanks a lot for another challenge jojo and thank you Preston for this nice model!
I also had normal problems when importing the mesh into maya2015
Flipped them by hand.

If you don´t mind some german names for the shapes (most of them are in english though) feel free to download this version.
I also grouped the objects for better handling.
