Layout Questions

#1

I’m just dabbling with Modo and I’m confused with Layouts.
I have a dual monitor setup. Any layout I create and save is all squished into one monitor when I reboot Modo. Also, any panels I detach and place somewhere do not show up when I reload Modo and load that saved layout.
Am I doing something wrong?
Is it a limitation?
Am I the only joker who’s tried Modo on a dual monitor setup? :hmm:

Using it on OSX

Sorry, I searched before posting but I didn’t see anything specific to my question.

Each time you close modo and relaunch it saves where your viewports are and loads them up the same way each time. The “saved layouts” are each individual window, so if you have two monitors you need to have to layouts, a primary one and a secondary window one. If you’re having problems with it not saving your last status, send us an e-mail cs@luxology.com and we’ll sort it out…

Thanks for the reply.

I think the saving was a stupid priviledges thing (damn you OSX!).
I also thought Layout was the whole shebang (every panel including detached ones) but it’s not. It’s per panel, and saving the layout doesn’t save where the panel is (except for, as you said, if it was the last position before you quit Modo).
So it seems that it’s better to have everything attached, save layout, and then I could always stretch the whole thing across both monitors.
I’ll get it eventually.
