Layer recording darkens tool

#1

After creating a layer and clicking record, my tool becomes darker. Anything I do on that layer seems to show properly. However, if I stop recording, the whole mesh still looks dark (including the strokes). Only undoing to before the record seems to make things all bright and shiny again. I’m assuming the darkening is intentional, for highlighting, but the permanent result is odd. What’s the cause, and how can I prevent the darkening entirely? I find it easier to work without this highlighting, anyway.

Before and after clicking record and adding some random strokes:

tool>subtool
it looks like you have 2 of the same objects

There is only one subtool: the model. And, when I click record, it now turns everything completely black. It didn’t do that before.

you either masked it or check your color palette that may not be pure white,
in other words your zadd sculpting with a dark color,
in tool>subtool look for the little paint brush icon and UN check it.
upload the ZPR Threw File save as =ZPR

Nothing was masked, the color was white, the material was the default, and the brush icon was off. However, what solved it just now was to do a quick color > fill object with material and color painting off. It fixed it so hard that after saving and reopening the project to test it out, undoing to before I filled doesn’t bring the problem back; it’s as if it never happened. I should note, however, that this only worked when filling before clicking record and turning everything black (I did some testing before committing the change).

So, it would seem that all is well now. Thanks for the suggestions.
