I’m having a problem with lattice controlled with a cluster in a rig - causing a double transform (DT). I can get away with only cluster but I am lost with lattice and cluster.

I get the basic idea of the where you don’t put the two drivers and one driven in the same hierarchy. However, as per video here:
it is okay to group them all together provided that the cluster is set to relative. It looks okay but when you rotate and scale it, the lattice breaks again.
