Laptop Crash :(

#1

Hey guys my laptop is about four years old now but still works decently if you don’t count the crashes… My HP laptop crashes every 10minutes when I’m using it, especially in programs like photoshop and zbrush, funnily enough my laptop doesn’t crash AT ALL when I play games, it’s the same with every game I play (skyrim, far cry 3, hitman, etc), I can play them for hours on end and no crash, it just gets a little warm…
So if anybody has ran into a problem like this before or may know some sort of solution that would be great, otherwise I might just have to reformat my whole thing :frowning:

CHEERS GUYS!

Monitor the temperatures when you’re working in Zbrush. Most games utilize a single processor core or maybe two. Zbrush on the other hand will use all of the cores most of the time which will generate much more heat from the processor. If it’s overheating it might be due to a dusty or clogged vent or a failing fan. Or if it’s poorly designed sometimes a laptop cooler fan can help. Run some diagnostic tools on the hardware to check the memory modules and other basic functionality too, sometimes the manufacturer will put utilities on a special partition so they will always be there and can be accessed from the POST screen.
