Land of the Lost

#1

Hello,

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any work here. Been pretty busy over the last 10 months or so. I did a lot of work on Land of the Lost and from what I know a lot of the matte work was replaced by CG. Had nothing to do with the quality of the work, but the continuity of the vast number of environment shots. Makes sense to use CG environments in this case. I haven’t seen the movie, and I am not sure what paintings made the final cut because there were hundreds of them, but here are a few I did.

Hope you enjoy
-Brandon

Great work. The project looked like fun, it would have been nice to work with you on it… maybe next time though.

Hey Cliff,

I was hoping you were going to make it onto the show! But to be honest with you it was pretty stressful.

Awesome stuff Brandon, was gonna give this movie a miss, but might check it out for the vfx, especially after seeing these mattes.

Eh… my current job is stressful, I would take stress any day of the week if I could paint and get paid for it.

Hey James,

In the paintings I did there was no 3D incorporated, but i think they may have replaced them with CG for continuity. Number of strange events occurred on Land of the Lost. Haven’t seen it so not sure what the final product looks like. As far as the set extension I did, its photos and paint.

The last painting for sure is in the final film. If the others were in there they were changed a bit at the comp level.
