I think this piece could use some contrast. Making some lines and shades darker would give more depth to it. I can’t understand the shapes in the background also, but the character looks nice.

The composition can use some work. Right now, it’s just smack in the center, dead-on straight angle. There’s no sense of drama or excitement, which according to your subject matter, would be a good thing to have. If you must have it like this, then try to have really interesting lighting, or something else that’s compelling, instead of a character floating in the middle of the image.
