Land Bridges

Hi, This is my latest mattepaint for the year 2009. Its for an offsite challenge.

I apologize for the waterfalls… Its just that I haven’t really made any matte with any waterfalls on it. So this will be my first time to create one.

Hope you guys like it!

Any comments and critique will be appreciated… Thanks!

Nice work mate! If i had a crit, it would be that the arches seem a little too perfect, but other than that it looks very convincing!

Cheers

Hi eyecon,

i like your work, you got a nice mood there and its a place that would be cool to visit.
Nice colors and perspective, too.

Whats disturbing me a little is, the Waterfall on the right is a bit to bright and there should be a waterflow break, where the column is.

rasher73: Thanks I shall consider your comment too. Although I did design the columns to be a bit farther than the edge of the falls. I’ll see what I can do with that.

Thanks again!

good one ! I agree with the waterfalls being too bright , also if you say that the arches are a little further from the edge you should work more in atmosphere or add some water sparkling /steam like just to push it behind and integrate them better, what about some fooliage hanging from the arches just to make them look more natural and believable
take a look at this pic you will see how waterfalls brightness should look like in the shadow/overcast mood and you can add that water rising that looks like steam/smoke just to make the feel alive, and big scale

Hi James,

Thanks for the comment. Yes thats good advice I’ll incorporate those and update this image.

Another thing… You were supposed to show me an image right? I somehow could not see it.

Oh… the scale of the scene is kinda huge… So i think I might need to add smaller trees at the bottom just to illustrate the scale. Thanks again
