lagging rigg

#1

Hi! I’ll cut straight to the chase.

I accidently deleted a single face without noticing it when I was using the skin weight tool.
Inbetween I also saved, not knowing that I deleted the face. When I was done with the skin weight tool I checked if everything worked as it should, which it did, only problem was that the fps dropped from super- smooth to 1-2 frames/ second, When I realized that I’ve deleted the face, I ctrl + z untill I couldn’t do that anymore, but sadly I didn’t get my face back, so now I’m stuck with 1 less face, a laggy rig and sadly I don’t have much time to redo the whole rig (otherwise I would)
any suggestions on what to do?

regards, Vheanom

the deletion of components should be easily fixed. Select the mesh and go to the hypergraph: connections. There you should see a ‘deleteComponent’ node. Just delete the node and the face should be back. However, I tried and deleting a face after binding didnt slow my rig down one bit. But I do noticed in your screenshot that the mesh is in smooth preview. That can cause significant slowdown.

Yeah I was using smooth just there when I took the screenshot, However it’s just as slow even when I’m not smoothed.

I ended up re-doing all the skin weighting, even though I don’t really have time for it though, but the new skin ended up far better then my old anyways. Made a fast test of the fingers to show you!

thanks for the tips until the next time this might happen
