Portrait Drawing: Focus on Realism with Kate Sammons
In this class, students will learn to draw the portrait in a full tonal range with an emphasis on realism and working from source reference. The syllabus includes the use of photographic reference for the purpose of training students to use rational observation when drawing. Rational observation stresses the skills of impartial analysis when judging the appearance of a subject. This class also teaches students how to use pressure variation, form modeling and rendering to improve their drawing skills.
