I think he got off lightly. Does anyone know what happens if he can’t pay the three million dollars fine?

From what I can read, he seems to suffer from mental illness. He needs care, not prison. However, it is interesting that they spent 3 million on defense. How on earth could it cost them 3 million to defend them selfs against a mentally ill random guy who have copied a drawing book??? There must have been desperation at Dreamworks. Did they guy actually have a case??? If they had spent $100.000 on some very pricey lawyer just to make a statement that they would not just let random people try tool fool them, but 3 million!?!?

Oh, the question. I have no idea how it works in US, but in Sweden and EU afaik (if you simplify it a bit) is that the only thing that happens when you don´t pay, the debt will follow you for the rest of you life and a portion (depend on your situation, they dont take all so you starve to death) of the money you legal earn will go to repay that debt until it is repaid. This guy will most likely never repay, so 3 million or 3 billion is the same.

I could be wrong, but I believe that collection is a ‘civil’ matter. They could end up spending a good amount of money trying to collect when there’s no blood to squeeze out of this turnip.
