Krakatoa Questions

#1

Hey all…I’ve been learned Krakatoa 1.5xxx and I just saw the video put up by Matthiasm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7c4WYzr30B0
Any idea how the particles were illuminated so brightly? Any helpers or pointers on techniques used would be very helpful! I’ve been trying to re-create the scenes in a basic form, but I’m having little luck.

Hi If you checked his youtube replies, he posted there that he had attached Omni light to emitter source.

#3

Sorry if you I wasn’t clear enough…I meant the actual particle illumination, not the Omni linked to his source. i.e., in the 2nd clip the fire is immensely bright…as far I’m aware, that’s a custom material/Krakatoa setting, not an omni.

#4

jigu is right, all i used to illuminate them are 2 omni lights with limited Far Attenuation, it is not illuminated by the material in this cilp.

#5

I’ve been trying to do that, but my scenes aren’t coming out illuminated like yours at all…I’m relatively new to Krakatoa so I’m not expecting anything of your quality just yet; however I’m at a complete loss at where to start…lol. I’ve been uploading stuff today, and if you have any ideas on how to make them look better please don’t hold back.

i had a look at your teapot, if you use emission, use it subtle not that strong, your animation is more appealing to the viewer if you have a contrast of light and dark areas, everything just bright does not look that good, also you can try the omni light with far attenuation, it will work for you too

Trying the Omni’s with near/far attenuation and it is helping a lot! Now it’s learning how to generate particle placement in order to achieve the abstract look that I liked from your renders. Do you include FumeFX particle birthing, or solid PFlow+Krakatoa?

#8

i do use fumefx follow but i spawn them from the emitter

#9

Is PFlow Box #3 necessary to create the colors found in your videos?

#10

depends on the clip you are refering too, for now all the coloring in my videos could be done without box3

I’m trying to figure out how the material works in this video. By far my favorite from everything you’ve done…the color is so vivid! I’ve started doing some material tests on my Youtube channel, but not close to yours lol.
