Knees are rotating out

Hey folks,
I have been working in MB for about 2 years now and every once and a while I get this phenomena of the characters knees turning outwards after plotting the animation to the skeleton. I can’t seem to pin down what causes this issue and I am interested if anyone else out there has seen this. If you have seen it, did you develop a solution?

I think you have to characterize your rig facing Z, and maybe in a T-pose, not sure about the last one. I had the same problem some time ago and I thinik that might be the problem.

T-stance is a very big yes, otherwise your rotation axis will end up wrong! Very wrong… feet as well shoot point forward… upon creating the the control rig it expects a perfect t-stance.
