Knee curve to pole vector

#1

I’m relatively new to rigging and I don’t actually know what to call what I’m trying to achieve, but I saw it on quite a few rigging reels so it must have a name.

It’s a curve that connects the knee bone to the pole vector.
Last year I got quite frustrated at trying to find my pole vector controls because they just “float” in space and when there’s a whole bunch of stuff going on in the scene sometimes they get quite hard to find. So it’s something I’d really like to implement into my rigs from now on.

I’ve made clusters out of the 2 points of an EP curve and parented one to the pole vector control and the other to the knee bone, my gut feeling tells me there’s a much better way to do this.
I attached a picture incase my explanation of what I’m trying to achieve is not clear.

What you can do is use an annotation node instead.
Select your pole vector, in the menu go to create -> annotation (you don`t need to specify a text - just leave it blank)
Then parent it (the annotation) to your knee joint and zero out
the translation.
