Why is the giant holding open his palm for the knight to stand on instead of simply crushing him? And if he’s eating these knights, how does he deal with the armor and weapons? He surely can’t just chew them up?

The red plume on top of the helmet is bumped up against the earlobe of the giant. It’s better to separate them clearly or overlap them, so there’s better clarity in the hierarchy of z-depth.
