Kinda confused

#1

I received an email saying that this image didn’t meat the standards of the website but it would still be hosted. I am kind of confused as to what that means. It still shows up in my portfolio. I am not sure if anyone else can see it in my portfolio. any insight would be appreciated.

First off, I love this image  Seriously I love everything about it. Was it hand painted? The gorilla’s face and head I think are the best part about this piece. Fantastic!

And yes, I can see it on the forum and in your portfolio, so I don’t think it’s been taken off.

Fantastic work!

Also, if you are looking for critiques, I would say that the right leg has some anatomical issues. It looks separated from the rest of the body, and the foot (the actual foot) is backward. The bend should be happening on the other side of the foot.

Thank you! Yes this is hand painted with the use of some fur textures, because I didn’t have the patience to paint all that fur. On some other various textures
I think you are right about the foot, now its all I can see haha. I am not sure what curve you mean. I think it is more the shape of the top of the foot that is wrong. It should be taller towards the viewer and slope dawn to the left. And the curve where the toes should be is off. I’m gonna get on fixing that.
Do you think the message I got was an error since it is still viewable?
thanks again.

The gorilla’s left hand looks odd–it’s hard to tell what we’re looking at. Is it the back of its hand, with the fingers curled in at the bottom? The area around the stuffed animal is very vague. What are we looking at there? The gorilla’s leg?

yeah I totally agree. You are looking at the knuckles. And his elbow is resting on his knee. The area is vague probably because I didn’t fully understand the anatomy in that position and didn’t know how to render it properly. And also wanted to keep the focus in the foreground. Maybe I will take another stab at it. Thanks for the crit

Something else to think of… the light coming through the window behind is so strong in contrast to the background that it draws attention away from the subject. It’s almost as if it’s saying “Me! The broken window! I’m the subject”
