Keyboard shortcuts

I seem to be having a problem with certain keyboard shortcuts and wonder if anyone else is having the same problem.

I’m running modo under Windows XP.

According to the documentation if I press 1, 2 and 3 on the numeric keypad my viewports changes to top, front and right respectively. This in facts works as described. However, if I press Shift-1, Shift-2 and Shift-3 I should get bottom, back and left. However, although the key editor shows that this is what those keys are supposed to be assigned to absolutely nothing happens.

Anyone have any ideas?

try pressing numlock.

just assign them to your like :slight_smile: press back (viewports), and watch out your history window, there ill be a change there after you select back or front etc, after that goto history window and right click the line that is related to viewport change and and select map key, and u can assign any key to any function.

Thanks, that will probably fix the problem. I’m not at my regular computer at the moment so I can’t try it but I think that should work.

I’ve tried num lock and that doesn’t seem to fix it.

I was just about to post a question about this topic also.

The commands to change your viewport can be found in the Key Editor (F2 key) - make sure the “Keys” and “Shift” column are highlighted, then scroll down to Shift-[1]. The command to change to bottom view, for instance, is:

 
macro.run "Viewport Command" "{viewport.3dView view:bot}"

This command can be assigned to some other key that isn’t being used (just click on it in the Key Editor, copy it and then paste it in the Command column to some other key). The command then should work fine. However, there seems to be a bug in modo that when the SHIFT key is pressed, the macros for the numeric keypad keys 1,2,3 don’t run. :cry:
