well for those who seen his work, i was wondering what is he work process. i got the book “50 fantasy Vehicles to Draw and Paint” by him, it did state his process but i didnt quite understand.
first he does a rough sketch and finalize it with some line shading, he scans it in his computer.
Using painting software, he furthur applies shading on his work, the darks and highlights.
Then he said in his book, “Here you choose the ‘canvas’ or ground the final work is laid upon.With a layered process,as here, the hues and the texture of the ground show through and dictate the appearance of the finished design.Digitally, you can choose any material you like, though it is best to work with a relatively consistent pattern, without dramatic contrasts in hue or texture.” (this is the step i didnt understand)
