Hi,

I was wondering if anyone programs in Java 3d what type of applications is it typically used to develop? Games or scientific? If you could give an example, I’d appreciate it.

i have seen a couple of “scientific prototyping” done with Java 3D that worked reasonably well. i haven’t heard of any 3D commercial (or non-commercial even) game written in java yet.

Sun has opened sourced and updated it for supporting it’s Looking Glass project. It is the underlying API for widgets and such.

I’m on the java3d mailing list, but haven’t had much time to play with it yet.
