James Cameron's upcoming Avatar

#1

When I first started picking rumors on this movie I became excited about it, and now, almost two years later my excitement has stayed pretty much the same.
Knowing James Cameron movies,
I just can’t wait for it to be released.
I hope it will live up to the expectations, and be even better.
Just like in 1993 Jurassic park came bringing stunning cgi and changing that part of movie industry significantly, I hope avatar will do the same with it’s 3d tech.
Hopefully, we will witness one awesome movie expirience with more than just eye popping special effects, but also some good storytelling aswell.
Anyway, to finish my thought, I dont know should we be afraid of seeing trailer in 2d for a movie that is introducing groundbraking 3d, is that even going to happen, is James Cameron going to release the trailer at all, or we just have to wait till the end of the year to go to cinema and see it as it was ment to be seen.
Would there be two versions, one with 3d other without…
Anybody who has some interesting theories about Avatar can post here.

Well, to answer your question about the trailer I think they’ll release it in both forms. 3D and 2D. Seems more than logical to me.

People should not forget that the 3D aspect to a movie is nothing more than CGI, or color correcting for that matter, is. Not to degrade it, look how important CGI has become, but it is just another way of telling a story. The story is still the most important element of the film, no matter how awesome the 3d projection is.
As for now, I don’t have much fate in 3D projection at all. The 3D movies i’ve seen where really awefull. Others inserted special 3D shots that had nothing to do with the movie at all and where just there for the show. Though, considering Camerons trackrecord I think he could be the one bringing 3D projection to the next level. He could be to one to convert me.
