Is this quote accurate?

Hi all - Was made aware of this forum last week and was hoping someone could be kind enough to help with some advice. I’m working on a video for a property developer who’s had an artist create a few 3D renders of rooms. Now I’m looking at turning these into videos with just a simple tracking shot into the room and I’ve been quoted £2k per room. I understand video is a lot more work, but I thought it would be less if the rooms themselves were already designed. Does anyone know if this sounds reasonable? 3D is a bit of a blind spot for me. Thanks!

Oh, that kind of quote.
It’s accurate if they can pay it. Are you asking if that’s worth your time?

It depends on the quality level and how long it would take to render.
A lot of visualization like that use Vray as a renderer but that can take a while to render each frame. Some places are using game engines now which can render video very quickly once everything is set up

Hi Dilby,
It’s hard to answer the question without more detail. From what I can understand it seems that the property developer had an artist create 3D still renders of several rooms for you and the artist is now quoting you £2k per room to produce animated versions of the stills. Is that correct? It’s hard to gauge if the cost is reasonable without knowing the quality of the work and whether it is the same artist doing the work or you are asking another artist do recreate the same scene but as an animation. the latter obviously requires more work.
