Is there a way to ''vectorize'' shaders?

#1

Can I transform a B/W shader to a spline ?

I think there was a tool or plugin for that but can’t remember.

(vectorizer takes only bitmaps)

Use Ai … trace object … outlines … make

#3

I need the procedural shaders of C4D …

How would this supposed to be working? Not saying it can’t, just asking.

I mean, lets take a procedural 3D noise for example. César Vonc has the amazing Proc3Dural plugin, but bound by the nature of the noises it can “only” generate polygonal meshes, not splines/outlines.

In order to create outlines, we’d need some kind of 2D representation of the shader, limited to a certain area/surface. Would you want to define such freely in space? Or is it supposed to work with an arbitrary object surface? In the latter case standard projections would probably fail in most situations, which would lead us into the terrain of UV maps… again maybe not the best source to generate an outline from, is it?
Apart from the loss of “procedurality”, would any of C4D’s baking mechanisms work for you as a source for an outline? Based on those one could easily script something.

Cheers

I think this plugin might be what you’re looking for:

Yes ! that’s the plugin ! thank you

Nice, I completely overlooked that one.
