Is there a relaxing tool in Maya?

#1

Hi,

In C4D, it has this iron tool that relaxes the selected faces. You can see it in action in this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c5y6fqpw45rf440/MYA027_iron_tool_for_maya.mp4?dl=0
The only tool I can think of that relaxes is the Sculpt Tool (Smooth/Relax Mode) but not quite the same as I need it based on face selection and with equal relaxing amount as demonstrated in the video.

Thank you for your time.

Maya and relaxing. Those are 2 words that you don’t see in the same sentence everyday.

There’s an oaRelaxVerts script that works quite well for retaining volumes in the mesh

Another option is using the Quad Draw functionality (if you want to relax the geo but not change the shape). You can copy your geo and set it to a Live surface. Select the target geo and enter the Quad Draw tool. While holding Shift, you can relax the target geo with brush strokes using the Live surface to constrain the shape.
