Is Setup Machine easy to use and worth the investment?

#1

I’m new to rigging characters, and I’m considering getting setup machine to make the process easier. Has anyone had a good experience using Setup Machine? Does it make rigging characters much easier?

Depends if you are trying to learn how to rig. This kinda does most of it for you, and lets you jump faster into animation.

-requires extra nodes in the pipe.
-fast set up.
-I invested in the indigogo/kickstart and bought their new ART tools. Looking forward.
-I have had no real problems. I am happy with this rig tool. Must have rigged 20 characters with it??

Awesome thanks for the info. I think I’m going to go ahead and buy it. I have a tight deadline, an I’d like to start animating ASAP.

Rasamaya, what are the new art tools you mentioned that you supported on kickstarter?? I tried looking it up online but I couldn’t find anything.

If anybody is using SetupMachine and Red9 StudioPack I’d love to here from you as I want to include a preset for it in the filters and mirror setups

Can anyone tell me if the rig from TSM 2 can be exported for use in game engines (and any resulting animation done with the rig)?

I am thinking predominantly about CryEngine 3 but any experience with UDK or Unity would most likely count.

Thanks

Export filmbox (fbx) and see if it works. It works in Unity.

A few years ago while testing, no you could not. Although there is a way to remove the arn node from a completed rig. I saw it in a rigged model sold on turbos quid.
