iPad colour sketch

OK, so I thought it was finally time that I stuck something up on here so that I could get some feedback from artists, rather than just my partner, who always says that she thinks everything is great…as she would of course :slight_smile:

A little background, I am, believe it or not, a working artist, in games for about 20 years, some TV and film stuff before that as an animator, but I have never really been much of an ‘illustrator’ sort of person. Rough pencil sketching and texture mapping is generally as far as I get 2D -wise with work.
So I have been looking to branch out in a more 2D stuff simply for personal development.
I like sketching on my iPad, so have been using that mostly, with ProCreate and a Wacom bamboo stylus…

Right, pre-amble over, here’s the latest piece that I have been doodling on. Not finished yet, I seem to have an issue with rendering clothes, but I think the head is maybe about there ?

Thanks in advance for any feedback / critique / advice.

The expression made me laugh :smiley:

If you squint and look at the back of the head, it seems like it’s coming forward a bit too much (too much contrast between the dark hair and the highlight).

Other than that, looking good.
