This reminds me of all of the Vector Tools in the Wings3D advance menu operations. Very powerful tool. And great video! Thx!!!

William i use Translate Plus for so long because it is “the tool” for many operations that other can’t do precisely when comes to axis options. But… I didnt knew how to do the numeric change by hiting right click… thats just not coming in the help file… : \ it says ‘press enter’ that is for deselect (make). So im very glad you posted this video, cause now i can go fast when i want precise operations, and just go numeric.

A year ago i wrote a post (just for reference, dont read it, big boring pile of useless words :P) where i ask why all the other tools don’t have those great axis option like Tplus? Why?

At the time i thaught that LW could be much better when comes to precise geometric operations. I hate to use extreme zoom in and zoom out, with mouse center mode, to think ‘im being precise’.

Here goes some of that post ideas that might still be valid today. Some maybe just make sense for architectural purposes.

-Tplus axis and Snap Drag Tool snap for all  why not?

-Copy and Paste 3 values (XYZ;HPB;UV…,whatever) in one click. In this way, whenever you need to copy paste these 3 values you dont have to go back and forward to make sure you doing it right. This is good for when you want to operate on a especific center (existing point coordinates), or you want in layout to copy the XYZ, or HPB of one object and input it in other. I don’t kow, in my point of view it has many possibilities.

-Expanding the use of Info Pad for geometric operation. For example you select a 2 points on info pad and you can change their XYZ togheter, why not on Edit value, add things like distance, angle, area, volume. You could slide the distance betwen 2 points. You could, after selecting 3 points from list, have a precise angle mesure (angle tool sucks :P), and then slide that value or go numeric.

great ideas…You should submit them to NewTek:

lwfeatures@newtek.com

Let you ideas be heard!

#5

Ok, done!
But i did that old post on Feature Requests forum, isn’t the same?

#6

Not the same

#7

Also post them in the LW forum Feature Requests,

http://www.newtek.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27

As it happens that mails are lost due the spamfilter makes a mistake.

Yup my mail failed and i posted in the forum.
