Hey guys, recently I finished this model for 3D printing on a Form2 SLA printer. But whenever I try to export it as an .obj Zbrush gives me an error message saying I don’t have sufficient memory. Im running Zbrush 4R7 on Windows 10 with 16GB of RAM. I’ve tried increasing the Compact Memory and still it crashes after error messages. What am I doing wrong? I’ve deleted the lower subdivisions and it doesn’t have any UV maps. The model is at 20.416 million polys. Any help would be much appreciated. I don’t wanna have to start over or lose the level of detail its at.
You should run Decimation Master to reduce the poly count. 20 million polys is way too much.
Here’s a video that covers the process of preparing your model and exporting for 3D Printing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzRogel2e98
Did you solve the issue exporting your model from ZBrush? I was able to solve the problem following this guide: http://www.offsetnull.com/zbrush/zbrush-insufficient-memory-error/ Similar to the article, I was able to export after fixing the UVs.
