I hope our film is welcome here. It is part 3D and part live action…
We are making our degree film at the University of Hertfordshire and would like to share the process and our excitement!
The film is about an artist who paints in his studio and can interact with his paintings. He ends up walking into one of his paintings and it becomes a world around him.
We have been working hard at making all of the assets and the studio for the artist and things are finally starting to come together.
I’ll post here a few stills of some of the assets and some rough comps of how things are coming together.
We have got to a stage where we can start doing some test comps to make sure our camera alignment is looking good. These are our first renders. The lighting is not done yet and there are still a few objects which need to be textured/replaced. We are considering doing quite a stylized grade of the film eventually. There is no real grading on these images yet either. We are now going to get on with the painting environment and come back to the studio to do the detail work.
