Inkwashing in digital

#1

Does anyone know if in Photoshop or Painter its possible to get an inkwash effect and if so how does one go about it. Even if its really painted or brushed out i would like to know. I do this style on paper alot but since im new to digital im not sure if there is a way. The main i ask also is i dont see anyone doing it either. Its rare in the pencil/pen and paper world too but i enjoy it alot. Any help, links or direction to this is much appreciated and needed. Thanks in advance guys

Also i posted this in general by accident im sorry and i dont know if you can delete posts cause it doesnt seem like u can

I am not sure if you can or cant, but if I had to guess painter would be more likely to be able to do it. We started doing ink washes in my drawing class a few weeks ago, and I like it a lot.

It’s certainly possible to create a wash effect in either PS or Painter. There’s a tutorial on this here, in fact, in the 2D WIP section using PS:

In Painter, you’d be able to get more controls over the brush and how it “bleeds” on the screen.
