Independent CG series Worms by Worms Animations

#1

Trying to make a CG series on your own is hard. I have tried it before with mixed results. Sometimes you don’t want to have to work in a big studio which can suck the life out of you. If you have the skill, ability and technology, then doing it yourself is the way to go.

My Worms animation is a cutting edge animated comedy by creator, writer and animator R J. Worms is about four dysfunctional friends called Kappa, FC, Daily and Albie as they navigate the crazy life of living in the city. Each episode catches the worms as they work out who they are and they’re place in a world that bemuses and confuses them.Ideas and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Community support is massive for an independent.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTgFs008Qcu1iDHWsA_pGWA/featured

Either it is a joke, or you are aiming at “it is sooooo bad, that it is good”.

No serious. I am really trying to make something on my own that is modelled, animated and rendered that rivals Pixar and Dreamworks. I believe Worms is the best animated show ever made, so please view, share and give constructive feedback. Even though I am the best Maya user that ever lived, I still take advice and give it when needed. Thanks for the post by the way.

I have only one advice: don’t quit your day job.

I have found your last remark hurtful and shocking. As a fellow 3D artist we must push each other up, not down. Worms is a totally serious venture. I have already quit my job so I can animate and become rich with animating. In six months I’ll have a company bigger than Pixar. I’ll hire you if you apply.

Sometimes the truth hurts. I can’t believe you gave up your day job for this. Come on, tell us. It’s a joke, isn’t it? Maybe you should become a comedian instead? You’ve made me laugh for sure.

Ok! Ok! I admit it. I have previously made high end animations and slaved on modelling, texturing and creating full rendered backgrounds and though ambitious is impossible to really do alone. So I came up with the idea of a South Park idea. Really simple models, hopefully funny concept of a series about Worms. Kinda like the shows you get on adult swim or comedy central. So far it has done alright in four weeks. I have had over 1,400 views, great comments about the comedy element which is the key thing. It is meant to be raw, and crappy looking, but hopefully this adds a bit of charm like the early Simpsons episodes or Rick and Morty. So far I am getting a shout out from a big Youtuber next week, which is really exciting for the channel. So I still like modelling, but as a writer/creator and wanting to be in charge of my own concept, a simple rude, crude and hopefully in yer face series is so far proving to be a good idea with a small but growing fanbase. So please keep watching, spread the word and support a hungry, sad artist. Cheers.
