Increase memory to zbrush

#1

Hey, all
Recently I started stumbling into memory related issues with zbrush, and found some tips on how to solve that issue. The thing I noticed when doing this is that I cant increase the memory beyond 4096, despite having 16 gig of ram in my computer. I cant seem to find anything on how to increase it
Any ideas on how i can do that?

ZBrush currently is a 32bit application. So the most RAM it can use (on a 64bit OS) is 4GB.

It’s sad, I know. However ZB5 should change all that when released.

Pixologic have been very quiet on the subject for a while but they tend to surprise us with wonderful new updates so a new version could be coming soon.

Cheers.

Ah right… Cant wait for the new release then!
All this ram and nothing to use it with… :<

if your having problems with memory
try splitting your mesh into separate subtools.
if zbrush can only handle 4 GB of ram at the most, then try DDR sheep
