Importing as layer from 3dsmax:Mesh is bugged.

#1

Hello.

I have a major problem i’m unable to solve.
From mudbox 1.07, i exported a mesh to 3dsmax 9.
So i have exported the first subdvision level (level 0) from mud to max.
In 3dsmax, i deleted half of the model, did a symmetry, slightly modfied the mesh.
Afterwards, i joined the 2 parts and exported as an .OBJ.
In mudbox, with “import as a layer”, i import the newly modified subdivison level and put it in place of the old one.

Here what i get :frowning:
The model is not unwrapped.
I guess deleting half of the model and recreating it messed up the vertice.
Is there a way to solve this problem?

To zbrush users:
By the way, does the same thing happen with zbursh?

the problem there is the symmetry mod.Collapse all>reset Xform and export to mud.It should be fine.

Thx.
I already tried it, but it didn’t work :’

if you delete one half you are destroying the vertex order… this is not working…

IMport your new mesh into your old scene as sperate geometry

generate a 32 bit disp map between it and the old version
use mesh displace to gain back your detail.

Oglu is right by remiriing you are changing the point order.
