imported vertex points..How to fill them?

Hello,

I have imported a grid of vertex points into blender. I want to fill them to create a surface. Blender’s fill function doesn’t work unless there are edges between the vertices. There is a script that Paulo_gomes at blenderartists found for me (http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Ex.../Vert2Face_0.3) but it freezes with a large number of vertices. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could fill a grid of vertices to produce a surface to render? I am linking an example.blend file for anyone who can help. Please if you have any thoughts let me know.

Yecire, I have actually been posting to that topic as I feel that it is relevant. Thanks for the heads up though.

As a side note, I figured out how to create a mesh in blender from equidistant gridded point data. I used excel to sort by y and then by x to make an edge (face) between any y or x value next to one another. Then I could use shift + F in blender to fill with triangles. It works and really well for the gridded data. Meshlab looks really promising for non-gridded irregular point data though.
