Implementing moving clouds into the scene

I am trying to implement some moving clouds video into my 3d scene, but I find it slight tricky to take the sky colour away and leave the moving clouds behind. Mainly because I couldn’t find good hd clouds video, that roughly matches my scene. (my scene is sort of sunset, but I can only find clouds against blue sky). This is only for a personal project, I cant really afford to spend $200 just for a cloud footage on the internet.

PS if you guys know anywhere I can find 1k-2k rez clouds rez for free online, will be great!!

Have you got a camera? If so, take a bunch of high-res stills and animate them. Unless you have high-wind and really whispy clouds you won’t need to distort them much over the shot. The beauty of clouds is they blend over each other really well. I suppose it also depends on how much parallax or camera panning you have in your shot.
