hello, I’m trying to import a jpeg image sequence that has only 28 frames that is numbered 01,02,03… but for some reason it only shows 9 frames instead of all 28, what am I doing wrong?
image sequence problem
have you checked your in/out and start/end frame, framerate in the image editor for the sequence?
if they are only showing 9 frames, there could be something about the images themselves which LW doesn’t like and so does not consider them part of the sequence.
Does the sequence play ok in something like Fisp or DJV?

the frames are just jpegs and I was able to open all of them as a sequence in quick time, and I tried messing around with all the settings and nothing seems to work. Its weird cus I never had this problem before… I will try to re save them in a different format to see what happens
Hmm, shouldn’t be an issue being jpegs, a lot of mine are.
Here’s a sequence I’ve got - see if this works for you, does for me.
I just load this, set my camera to 640x480 and assign it as my background image. Set up as sequence in the image editor, make sure “use layout time” is NOT checked and you should be able to scroll through it for 32 frames.
If you can’t get this to work, I can set up a base scene for you to compare against. If it works, it does suggest there is something about your image sequence that Lw isn’t happy with. ![]()
thanks alot for your help! I won’t be able to get back on LW for a few days but I will definitely check out your sequence and report back the results as soon as I do
ok just loaded the sequence into lightwave and it worked… i thought maybe it was because you named the first file 00 so i changed the first frame of my sequence and tried it again and it still shows only 9 frames. So this is not a software issue, for some reason LW doesnt like my sequence.
Strange indeed.
Have you tried loading them in IrfanView (freeware) - I’ve found that’s useful where a file may be called a JPG but is another type, iView warns you in that case as it loads.
I can’t really think of another reason for the fail. Unless there are some “rules” governing sequences I’m unaware of, such as having to be identical sizes, colour depth etc.
Hmm, that’s a thought, check the colour maps, etc for the say 8th and 12th image and see if there any “glaring” differences.
If they are not “sensitive” images in regards copyright etc, maybe Zip 'em up and I can take a look-see? :hmm:
