Are you talking about creating a realistic Frame? Or do you want to mask out an image?

Also - reading and enjoying the Adobe Photoshop help file is something that most people never endeavor, I would take a glance at it once in a while. There’s a wealth of information in there. You sound like you haven’t really touched Photoshop very much and could use the benefit of some tutorials on basics. You Tube is a GREAT place to find free tutorials, also just doing a Google search on photoshop returns a plethora of sites and such.
