I'm looking for a vector graphics type game engine?

#1

Hello,

I’m kinda new to using game engines but i know there are several like Game Creator, 3D Game Studio and Torque. Now, i wanted to try and create some old-school (think Atari’s Asteroids or color games like Tempest) vector games and i have no idea if any of these game engines would do the job for me?

I have limited C++ programming skills but i guess i can get help from my buddies. My main goal is to have a game creation tool which is easy to use and which would serve my purpose in creating vector type games. It would be nice if i can change gradiant background or something like that instead of just a black screen (perhaps white lines on a blue/light blue background) and also some physics capabilities (?), mostly so objects can bounce of walls and what ever.

edit
I today came across a website with some really cool looking-colorful games which may be the look i’m going for (perhaps a mix between these and old Atari): ABA Games

  Any recommendations?
