Idea (3d zoom + 2d and 3d effect)?

I have an idea that I wish to compile as a video.

Using this tutorial = http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/earth_zoom/

Except in reverse (so that it zooms inwards), so it focuses on the top of a building, which then pivots down smoothly into into a side on shot. (as in, street level)

This seems to be the part which I think I may have trouble doing, can anyone help me with this process?
