Thomas,
Thank you for these… they’re beautiful.
Since yesterday, I’ve added a few more horses in the ref thread, as well as a few hundred pictures of ladies in formal dresses, for anyone who’d like to practice clothing and folds… enjoy, and here’s my own attempt below (paint shop, ~30 mn)

#1303

It’s been a while since I’ve gotten the chance to sketch… So here’s some stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got REALLY carried away with this. Probably around 30 minutes.

I tried to see if I could show the form without using lines so much as color and value… Yeah, I can’t.

Big thank-you to QueenSoul for adding the reference for this… Saw this picture while looking up horses with fuzzy feet, and fell in love. This is after 15 minutes, but I felt I really couldn’t do her justice in such a short time, so I went further.

This is after about 25 minutes (so 10 minutes longer).
I heard somewhere that a good face pulls the image together, while a bad one ruins it… Guess that’s true for horses, too.

#1304

Those are some gorgeous horses Comrade. That last one is really awesome.

@Thomas: wow. Its amazing how your work just flow together into one gorgeous piece after another.
@Tiziana, looks like am gonna be drawing dresses for awhile now. Quite a collection.

#1316

Alex[RM-UK],

Welcome aboard! Just keep truckin’ ~ it’s our unofficial motto! Can’t take the closest look at your piece as I’m at work, but will definitely take a look later.

In the meantime, did you want to tell us something about your training / background?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#1317

That’d be great if you could have a look Rebeccak

Well I don’t have any trainning really, apart from my Art class in school (i’m 15)- but the teacher may aswell not be there, he just comes in and pretty much goes ā€˜draw’ and thats it. Doesn’t teach us anything at all then he complains like hell about why we don’t do anything. So I thought i’d try and teach it my self

#1318

Alex[RM-UK],

What a shame about your art class! Ah, well, good thing there’s the internet, and this fabulous community here on CGTalk!

I definitely recommend checking out the following thread, and trying some of the Exercises that are posted in the beginning:

Beginners’ Lounge

Also check out:

BEGINNERS’ Drawing Workshop - Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain

The above thread uses the classic book, ā€˜The NEW Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain’, and I first acquired the older version of the book when I was a bit younger than you…it’s an excellent book, and a recommendation for anyone who is interested in learning how to draw.

A great guide to many of the threads we have here in the Anatomy Forum is:
Tutorials, Workshops, Anatomy Reviews & More … [links within]

I’m pretty busy with the CGWorkshop which just started today, but rest assured I check the forums daily and will try to answer any questions you may have.

Cheers,

#1319

Thanks Rebecca  No problem, not (to much) disturb while working, i understand
I tried to do a group scene, i like the composition of this image (thanks Michael Jordan), but i’m not very proud of the result, loosing time on details, no spontaneity. But i enjoyed doing this  ! I’l do it again.
