adiere: yeah! You don’t have to be a pro to submit your work here. This is the beauty of this forum I think, show what you’ve got and let people tell you what they think. How you could improve and discus with you why they think that. All the oppinions are honoust and ment for your progress…
Don’t be ashamed of your work, be proud and let it out!
Hope you show us more.
I5 Minute Sketchathon - Thread 2: Sketches
rebecca// i did what you told me, but no luck here i only can see url on replies.
i use smaller one (600 X 464). and i use ‘image insert button’ on menu bar,so can you see my pic. in reply?
adiere // you are not alone… cheers
.avalon // you cut their head and legs… that hurts,
flyingP// i admire you sir and thanks ( i love your dynamic lines…)
Squibbit // i admire you too sir,
sturmkim,
I think you just need to set up all of your Interface options. No worries, I had the same problems when I was new to the site.
Go to User CP > Edit Options > scroll down til you see Thread Display Options:
If you have Show Images unchecked, then when you post, you will only see links (and you will only see links for others’ work, as well. Do you currently only see links for everyones’ posts? Let me know.

By the way, I can now see your post as an image. But if you have Show Images unchecked, YOU will only see a link. If you check Show Images, you should be fine.
Cheers,
~Rebecca
Yar… I have returned from the depths of Davy Jones locker to renew my quest to become a better artist and to participate in this thread. The holiday season was really busy and I’ve just started up again at a new school which has occupied a lot of my time. I plan to get back into daily multi-stage sketches. I think I was starting to make some decent progress when I was interrupted. Anyway, enough talk. I’ll kick some stuff out soon.
First go at the 15ers!
I used my tablet, had a blast but still feel confined with the tech although I am happy with the lines for first try.
RoboMonkeyModule,
Welcome back!
Anm8,
Hey there, welcome aboard! I like the way you’ve left the figure to suggestion in the first piece. Let’s see more!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
Sturmkin i guess your referring to the fact that the canvas is ‘too small’
is this better?

.avalon// much better ;->
rebecca // thank you. i can see drawings in reply, (no more clicking o~uh!)
at lunch time 15min.

I just got my wacom yesterday and decided this is a great place to try it out and brush up on my drawing skills ![]()

Anm8, I really like your lines. they are very dynamic.
sturmkin, nice sketch! I feel like the torso on the dancer would be difficult (for me anyways) to get right. yours looks great.
here’s another one.

Suzi,
Woo! Another uncloseted lurker! :bounce:Nice to see your new sketch!
Cheers,

Sorry to hear that ~ glad it got resolved!
heartbeat,
Great to see you back!
When I first started doing drawings for this thread, I found that it helped to work on a sketch in incremental 15 minute sessions ~ just to get the hang of the format. So long as you’re honest about how long it took to do a piece, I think it’s fine to post work like that ~ the goal here is to become comfortable with whatever medium with which you’re working, not just to adhere to a strict format.
So if you wanted to take these pieces a bit further, in subsequent 15 minute sessions, it may help you to become more comfortable with digital. Only a suggestion.
Having said that, I don’t agree that your sketches are a mess ~ I think you have a great start!
Cheers!

Hello,
here is my new piece. It might be a little over 15 min.

Rebeccak:
I have the feeling that I don’t realy understand how should we aproach the assignement for this thread. What should be our focus in those short 15 minutes? You might already answered to the question but the thread is huge now and I can’t look all over it, so please give us some directions to follow. BTW your peanut hint realy helps me.
Thanks and sorry for my english.
adiere,
Good question, absolutely.
One thread I think you might quite like (and it’s shorter)
is the following:
There are some really good exercises about / explanations about GESTURE here (all linked in the first few posts of that thread) which might really help to explain the goal of the 15 Minute Sketchathon ~ which is, in short, to capture the Gesture, or essence, of the pose.
Lots of good work happening there ~ I hope you’ll join in!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
