wonder if you can help me out here, something happened a couple hours ago, something I did or should have done, I dunno, but suddenly, when I magnify an image, instead of the usual lines, in very close ups I get lines all broken down in squares (can you tell english is not my first language? :D).

It looks like pixellation. Did you downsample your image size? What size in pixels is the image?

thank you for your post, I’ve actually found the solution in the Adobe site a couple days ago:
View > Show > Pixel Grid
