I need some modellers for a BIG half-life 2 mod

Project Nibelheim, a mod for Half-Life 2 is looking for help. I know that the topic says only modellers are needed, but that’s before editing this post. We’re currently looking for modellers, coders, mappers, and texture artsists. Coders and mappers should be familiar with the source engine, or just how Half-Life 2 works in general. Anyone wanting to help should send a sample of their work to onisephiroth@gmail.com with your AIM screenname if you have one. You should also have good communication skills. I’m not asking for 100% perfect English, because I know there are some skilled people out there who don’t speak it too well, but we should be able to understand you. If you don’t have a sample of your work, then there will be a trial run for you. I myself am a coder and mapper. I have a few areas of the game finished and i’m also currently editing the phys cannon from Half-Life into a laser cannon. I cannot go much further into the mod without a few models though.

    Requirements:
    
    Coders (2 needed)
    -Must be able to program in C++ with Microsoft Visual Studio 2003
    -Should have experience with the Source Engine
    -Your ability to debug code.  The quicker bugs can be fixed, the better
    -You can meet deadlines if any are given (most likley won't have too many, when things are done, they're done)
    
    Mappers (1-2 needed)
    -Must have experience and knowledge of Hammer Editor
    -You can compile a map without too many errors
    -You can fix any errors that show up.  More errors means more lag in game
    
    Modellers(2 needed)
    -Must have experience with Softimage|XSI, or 3DS Max (preferably version 7)

-If you’re using XSI, please make sure you have the ability to export .SMD files. Max won’t be a problem as I have an SMD exporter for it.
-Must be able to model Anime
-Not required, but it will be VERY helpful if you can animate

    Texture Artists(2-3 needed)
    -Must be able to create textures that would fit in an anime styled world.
    -Should work with modellers to make any textures needed and to better match the styles

By offering your help in ANY position, you are helping the mod to get done much quicker and it will be overall, more playable.
I will have concept art up soon, as soon as I get around to uploading it.

Best of luck with your project, but if you’re aren’t a modeller/texture/level artist and you’re not a programmer, you don’t offer much to a team that would entice them to work with you.

I have a feeling the reasons the hl2world boards would flame you are the same reasons why you may have limited success in this endeavor.

Some people are going to ignore this simply because you posted a devionart url. That site (or rather, many of its users) have a bad reputation around these parts.

I’m not saying you should get rid of it, but that combined with the fact you stated you were afriad of getting flamed in another forum doesn’t help matters.

Recommendation: Repost an announcement for your HL2 mad and that you’re looking for modelors. This time, try to sound more confident and ‘professional’ in your announcement. Make them WANT to create models for you!

Well I’m working on the textures and levels, and i’m learning to program. So modelling is the one thing that I really won’t be able to do.

I’m very intrigued at the idea of a First Person FF game, and also because Me and my Uncle worship FF7, in all it’s glory. Here’s a few questions:

1: How is the fight system going to work? Will it break into a third person Turned-Based fighting system, like in all the other FF’s, or will you put an FPS element into it?

2: Will there be a way for you to implement the CG Cutscenes from the original FF7 into the Source Development Kit? If not the originals, will you create your own just for the Mod?

and

3: Will all characters include voice acting(including the minor characters), or will you find a way to implement the Text-Boxes?

  1. Action RPG similar to Kingdom Hearts with a bit of the source engine added in. It will also be third person

  2. What I plan on doing is creating animations for cutscenes (in max or face poser, whichever will be easier. My modellers when I have a few more may also be helping with that) and then using a free camera to view the animations interacting with each other in game. So they will be created just for the mod.

  3. I’m hoping to use voices.

I think i’m going to reword my first post to try and get more help.

Since im waiting on this mod id figure i can try to help model some characters (cloud, tifa, vicent) for you. What do you say?

I need practice modeling them anyways

omg, you are my savior. I have someone doing cloud right now (still waiting for him to get started), but Tifa is no problem for now =) I’ll have the concept art uploaded for her soon.

completley aware of that, infact I visit the same forum as the creator of Chrono Resurection. And that reason is why i’m keeping the publicity for this game down until release.

I don’t think being sued is possible with fair use policies. They can’t sue me as i’m not making money off of this, and if asked to stop working on it by square, I will.

This thing is as likely to get sued as the Halo 2 Mod for Halo CE. And…it didn’t.:wink:

…wow, sorry i was in a hurry, i forgot about the first post so ill check that out, hmm youll have to give me detials too like will they be using HL2’s rig, Amont of Detials (poloy count) and such such… And i can help with the animation too
